He sharply and comically describes both life on a traffic island and the world shrunk to the size of a traffic island. Hogekamp, one generation older than most poets in the scene, is not caught up in the scene's tautology of affirmation and critique. His expression encompasses his strength. He possesses something of the incorruptibility of the best rap that comes with a freedom of the tongue that doesn't complain if caught in an unfavorable place.<br />Konrad Engelschallwolf hogekamphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06936213540601945339noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2321067732628682420.post-52735517190217124412010-08-01T12:23:00.000-07:002010-08-01T12:24:12.990-07:00PhoetryPerformance in Providence. Today he is one of the most succesful slam poets, winning several National Slam Competions, touring all across Europe and America and starring as Special Guest at the U.S.-National Poetry Slam 2009. Far out on the Pacific Ocean he once saw and smelled a humpback whale. Very impressive.Gary Glaznerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12249612560922029331noreply@blogger.com0
